Oliver Soden is a writer and broadcaster who in 2023 published “Masquerade -The Lives of Noel Coward”. The biography has been very well received (FT “A captivating biography by an emerging literary star…”) and in addition contains fascinating insight into life at Hambleton Hall in the first quarter of the 20th century. Coward was a frequent guest of Mrs Cooper, owner of the Hall and Mrs Cooper and her house-parties inspired Coward with much of his witty observations and satire on Country House life and manners at the time.
Oliver will give us a talk for around 45 minutes with some readings.
Please do let us know if you would like to stay the night.
